== Adding kernel usage information to this page ==

I believe that no one should read a 31 pages thread to get information about how to use the kernel, especially now when it's in Extras.

That's why I'm going to start adding information about how to use the new modules. Unfortunatly I don't have a lot of spare time so I urge you all to help so people would be able to make the most out of this kernel. --[[User:jayford|jayford]] 09:37, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
== rootsh ==

It looks like rootsh doesn't work anymore, at least on my N900.
I had to:
* fix /var/lib/dpkg/info/rootsh.prerm, adding '''then''' to the script: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=42327
* completely uninstall rootsh, from Application Manager
* install rootsh again.
Now both '''sudo gainroot''' and '''root''' works again.

== Issues ==

After installing this (kernel-power-settings 0.17) my BlessN900 camera app (blessn900 0.49-4) won't start.

Since the camera is the app I use the most on my N900, I decided to revert back to the kernel I had. However, after running "<code>apt-get install --reinstall -y kernel kernel-flasher</code>" the output says "'''Reinstallation of <both the packages> is not possible, it cannot be downloaded.'''" I've successfully used apt-get to download and install packages only minutes before and after trying to get the kernel.

Sigh. Years of no issues and suddenly I no longer have my camera.
