Exactly. Without X you can't offer mobile decvies based on free software that people can afford and that people can use to work collaboratively. You can't do it, not as long as time to market matters, not as long as reality matters. The 770 is the first device in a new era and as much as people love it now, when they grasp its value as a device that makes it easy for them to work in collaborative workgroups they will love it even more. That is not only possible because of X, but it is inevitable because of X and all that this implies. Game Over, man.

Ari,I've been wanting to buy a N900 ever since I found out it was reealsed. I was this close to buying it when I heard about MeeGo. Being an iTouch owner, I thought that you could just update it and there you go. But I read over 30 different blogs about not being able to have full functionality when you update to MeeGo/Maemo6. I really want this phone, but I dont want it to be a mistake. I mean sure when it comes to technology, there is always going to be something new, but that doesn't mean you abandon a product/OS you JUST reealsed a few months ago. I've been a Nokia supporter since I had my first cell phone. So please can you just answer all of us this? Will Meego/Maemo6 be FULLY supported on the N900? Same functionality it'll have on future Meego-compatible devices? Thanks, Bob

The '''Wiki Gardeners''' (previously the Maemowiki Action Group) was originally founded as a focusing point for the migration and editing of content from an older wiki to this one. Our job is to fight the entropy, to keep order in a wild, wild world. A lot like gardening.

I don't think so. It's hard to get good facial prnotrpioos when doing a self-portrait. If you hold the camera at a wonky angle, you look weird. . .but it's hard to hold the camera at a good angle when you are just holding the camera out and guessing. But I also did just did focus point focus with piknic, blurring everything not in focus. I suppose it does give it an underwater or dreamlike quality.

My mind is blown. It never ceases to amaze me how one shmcuck in the comments make a massive jump in creative interpretation, and the angry lemming horde follows him off a cliff. (The same madness was evident all over Qt labs when Nokia purchased Trolltech)Nokia and Intel are unifying their userspace solutions, using Moblins core userspace and Qt etc on the front end.This does not mean that Nokia is completely changing its road map or scheduled devices. Imagine the next device (n9**) is a slightly improved hardware revision (realistic) with entirely new software (maemo6 going on Meego). These geek early adopters will be stumped by what exactly?I own an n900, have enjoyed several (significant) updates so far and look forward to 1.2 and beyond.(And for n8** users who want to draw analogy, that generation hardware has an MBX GPU and the associated drivers were never released into the wild. Maemo5 was not an option without GL)
